Muscle Display: Tong Chin Wee

It is amazing how in the US Asian men were almost completely absent from body building competition until about a decade ago. I would suppose there were cultural reasons for this as well as the fact that the "Culture of Muscle" hadn't spread to Asia where martial arts are far more popular. Also, consider the fact that children of Asian immigrants have grown up in a different culture that accepts the sport. So now we are seeing young Japanese, Vietnamese, Korean, and Chinese builders entering competitions. Competitions are happening all over the Far East including The Philippines. Another reason for the absence of the Asian presence might have been prejudice. I don't know that for a fact, but in the last 20 years the sport has been dominated by many Black athletes and other races except Caucasians have been in a clear minority. It is good to see more Latin and Asian participants. Some of them, like this man, Tong Chin Wee, have extraordinary physiques.
