Superhero Sunday: And Now For Something Entirely . . .

. . . off topic. Well, Bob Clampett, one of the great Termite Terrace dwelling Warner Bros. cartoon creators (writing, direction, drawing) will always be a hero of mine. And, as is evident from this "Beany and Cecil" cartoon, I have a soft spot for the inane and the insane as far as Clampett's crazy cartoons are concerned. In the same tradition as Loony Tunes this cartoon is way beyond the sensibilities of the kiddies. Cecil swims in a sea of word play, double-entendre, and inside jokes. And will always be a star member of the Pantheon of Great Cartoon Characters even if he was based on a sock puppet.

The star of our show, the lovely Cecil The Seasick Sea Serpent, in drag. Where the heck did he get those lily white arms?
