Awesome Art Dept.: Jakub Kujawa, Polish Painter of Time and Movement

Jakub Kujawa has a fascination with capturing the form in movement and creates pieces that are meant to portray subjects moving over the course of time but also become images of multi-limbers. This is serious art about the soul and its connection to physical manifestation. Looking at it forces the viewer to question reality in sometimes disturbing ways. Kujawa creates dramatic representations of people experiencing emotional upheaval and this turbulence doesn't exist solely on the single 2D plain of his paintings, but leaps off the canvas to cause the viewer to become involved in a process of spiritual co-creation. It is impossible to truly "see" the artist's work and not find yourself experiencing emotional resonance from it. There is nothing lighthearted or happy about this work. The emotions are deeper and more profound and the ones we frequently refuse to acknowledge. The gift of this artist is to create a confrontational space with his audience and produce a new questioning dimension in his dialog with every member.
